NexGen Network Secures Capacity Partnership Faster Cable System

NexGen Networks, a Global Digital Infrastructure company and the premier provider of fiber optic-based network solutions to the world’s top financial services firms and global enterprises, has secured capacity via partnership with FASTER-- a trans-Pacific Submarine cable system.  The trans-Pacific cable is made up of more than 5,500 miles of wires linking the U.S. (Oregon, specifically) to two ports in Japan, Chiba and Mie. The FASTER cable can provide up to 60 Terabits per second and will increase internet service to major Asian cities as well as some U.S. west coast metros like Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

“It’s a submarine cable that adds much needed network bandwidth between data centers in the US and data centers in Japan, Taiwan, and the broader Asia-Pacific market,” says Edward Lawson, SVP Business Development at NexGen Networks. “This is the highest-capacity undersea cable ever built — about ten million times faster than your average cable modem.”
