NexGen Networks Expands European Presence with Sweden Point of Presence

NexGen Networks, a leading global provider of ultra high-speed fiber-optic services with a distinctive customer service approach, today announced NexGen’s expansion into Stockholm, Sweden, providing Northern European customers with an additional regional point of presence that offers NexGen’s top services, including Cloud Direct Connect and value-added services like UTC Time as a Service (TaaS).

“This expansion into Stockholm demonstrates our lasting commitment to continued enhancement and investment in our European network,” says NexGen’s Jeffrey Barth. “We aim to be recognized as one of the top providers of quality network transport services in centers of commerce throughout Europe, and our recent builds and enhancements in the region will help us maintain that standing.”

NexGen chose Stockholm for its latest expansion to strengthen its position in Scandinavia. Stockholm is a top ten financial center in Europe and one of the world’s most connected cities. Stockholm’s municipal fiber solution has been making the city attractive to businesses, particularly the tech sector, with recent media reports referring to it as the prospective “Silicon Valley of Scandinavia.”

NexGen Networks will offer cutting edge services to match this innovative city, with its cloud direct connect and value added services like UTC Time as a Service. NexGen’s Cloud Direct Connect service allows customers to connect to all cloud providers using a dedicated, private circuit without traversing the Internet. NexGen’s UTC TaaS was recently announced in partnership with NPL, and it will prove to be valuable for enterprises seeking to comply with the January 2018 implementation of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) update to the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II), which requires financial organisations to achieve up to 100 microsecond level traceability of trading events. UTC TaaS helps enterprises meet the regulation requirements with a certified precise time signal delivered over fibre, accurate to within one microsecond.
